Design 4: Company Logo

hoggly

The logo I made was for a fictional company, Hoggle Woggly, a grocery store chain with stores in five southern states. The logo is supposed to be straightforward, the outline of a hog with the company name displayed on his belly. I didn't want to make a particularly difficult or complicated logo because, when I think of logos, the ones that come to mind are the simpler ones. I think it's important for any company logo to be playful and fun, especially grocery stores. When I was a kid, my favorite grocery store was the Piggle Wiggly, because of its name and its logo of the friendly, smiling pig. The grocery store Hoggly Woggly I thought, without stealing Piggly Wiggly's logo, should represent something similar--something playful and fun, relying on symbolism from its straightforward name. The outline of a hog is pretty easily identified, making it an easy target for kids and swine lovers all over. I'm sure that tons of parents would be conned into going to Hoggly Woggly, not a boring Kroger or Publix, by their kids if they ever caught a glimpse at the place.
